Feynman diagram generator Screenshot of an interactive Feynman diagram generator and editor for multi-loop calculations in high energy physics, developed by C. Choi working with Dr. Gonsalves.
Cosmic Microwave Background An image of the Cosmic Microwave Background from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe satellite, showing the conditions in the universe when it was only 300,000 years old. Dr. Kinney's group uses such cosmological observations to study the physics of the universe shortly after the Big Bang.
Neutrino detector Mike Stamatikos, a UB physics graduate student of Dr. Baur, is on the AMANDA/ICECUBE experiment at the South Pole. AMANDA/ICECUBE telescope detects Cherenkov radiation generated by neutrinos passing through the clear polar ice. Mike is searching for Gamma Ray Bursts, incredibly powerful explosions in the universe which are very poorly understood at the moment.
ParticleCollider An artistic view and a real event display of the production of a top anti-top quark pair, as seen at the Fermilab proton anti-proton collider. Dr. Wackeroth group develops theoretical predictions for, and simulations of particle collider experiments carried out at the World's most powerful accelerator facilities.
