Java Applet: IsingExact

This applet illustrates the interplay between energy and entropy in the one-dimensional Ising model. It is easy to enumerate the energy eigenstates of the model in zero magnetic field. Energy and entropy factors are plotted in the graph as functions of the eigen-energies. The maximum of the blue histogram corresponds to the most probable energy eigenstate. The vertical blue line shows the average energy <E>.

The control panel allows you to adjust the following parameters:
